Buying Sensoren — what matters in the selection

A sensor supplies the number a plant uses to control, alarm or shut down. If the number is wrong, everything downstream is wrong — so the selection hinges less on catalogue price than on whether measuring principle, range and process connection fit the task.

The shukchok range covers pressure, temperature, level and proximity sensors plus optical sensing for process, environmental and cleaning technology. Measuring range, output signal and connection type are stated on every item.

For replacements the type code of the installed sensor is the most reliable basis. Where it is no longer legible, measuring range, signal type and installation dimension help with identification.

Selection criteria

  1. Range matched to the task

Too wide a range costs resolution, too narrow gets overrun. Rule of thumb: the working point should sit in the middle third of the range.

  2. Output signal and evaluation

4–20 mA is immune to interference over longer cables and detects wire breaks, 0–10 V is cheaper over short distances, a digital bus connection allows diagnostics. The evaluation side has to match.

  3. Process connection and seal

Thread, installation length and sealing material must suit the measuring point. For temperature sensors the immersion depth additionally determines the response time.

  4. Assess ambient conditions honestly

Protection rating, medium temperature and vibration are the most common causes of failure — not the measuring technology itself.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fit a sensor with a different range as a replacement?

Only if the evaluation is scalable. With a fixed-parameter PLC a different range produces wrong readings and wrong limit alarms. Check the scaling in the controller before swapping.

What does accuracy as a percentage of full scale mean?

The error refers to the full-scale value, not the reading. On a 0–10 bar sensor with 0.5 % accuracy that is ±0.05 bar across the whole range — at 1 bar working pressure that equals 5 % of the reading.

Do I get calibration certificates?

Where the manufacturer supplies a factory calibration certificate it is filed under the downloads on the product. Accredited calibrations must be ordered separately — they are not included automatically.

Can I order sensoren on account?

Card payment, Apple Pay and Google Pay are available immediately. Purchase on account and prepayment by bank transfer are in preparation for business customers and will be available shortly. If a card declines a larger amount, please contact us — we handle those orders individually.

How quickly are sensoren delivered?

9 items in this category are currently listed as available. There is no blanket delivery time — it depends on the item, and stock goods, made-to-order parts and special versions differ considerably. The figure that applies is stated on the product page.

Do I get technical data sheets for sensoren?

Yes. Data sheets, dimensional drawings and manuals are — where provided by the manufacturer — filed under “Downloads” on each product and accessible without an account. If a document is missing we will supply it on request.

Who is my contractual partner when I order?

shukchok. Even where an external supplier lists and ships the product, shukchok remains the seller and contractual partner. Invoicing, payment processing, warranty and refunds all run through shukchok — you have exactly one point of contact.

Can I return sensoren?

Unused stock items can be returned within the statutory and contractual rules. Items made or configured to customer specification are excluded from return. Please register a return in advance so we can allocate the process.
