Gas cooler
Sample gas coolers lower the dew point of the sample in a defined way before it reaches the analyser. Without this step water condenses inside the instrument — with shifted readings, damaged cells and expensive downtime as the result.

Buying Gas cooler — what matters in the selection
Sample gas coolers lower the dew point of the sample in a defined way before it reaches the analyser. Without this step water condenses inside the instrument — with shifted readings, damaged cells and expensive downtime as the result.
shukchok carries compressor and Peltier coolers plus accessories such as heat exchanger blocks, condensate drains and peristaltic pumps. Cooling capacity, target dew point, number of gas paths and connection type are stated.
Three figures matter for sizing: flow rate, inlet dew point and ambient temperature at the installation site. Forgetting the last one is the classic reason for undersized cooling capacity.
Selection criteria
Capacity by flow rate and humidity
The heat to be removed rises with flow rate and inlet humidity. Saturated gases from biogas plants demand considerably more than dry process air.
Keep the target dew point stable
Reproducible readings come from the most constant dew point, not the lowest. Fluctuations in the cooling block feed straight through to the measuring signal.
Plan condensate removal
The condensate has to leave reliably — via peristaltic pump or automatic drain. A flooded cooling block carries droplets into the sampling train.
Heat exchanger material
Glass, stainless steel and PVDF behave differently towards acidic sample gases. With H₂S or HCl the material decides the service life.
Frequently asked questions
Peltier or compressor cooler — which is right?
Peltier coolers are compact, low-maintenance and ideal for smaller flow rates. Compressor coolers deliver more capacity and cope better with high inlet humidity and warm surroundings. From roughly 250 l/h or with saturated gases the compressor cooler is usually the more robust choice.
Which dew point should I set?
3 to 5 °C is customary. Going lower brings hardly any measuring benefit but raises the risk of icing in the heat exchanger and the energy demand.
How often does a gas cooler need servicing?
The heat exchanger itself is low-maintenance. What needs regular checking is the condensate drain, the peristaltic pump tubing and the filter stage ahead of it — these wear within months depending on duty.
Can I order gas cooler on account?
Card payment, Apple Pay and Google Pay are available immediately. Purchase on account and prepayment by bank transfer are in preparation for business customers and will be available shortly. If a card declines a larger amount, please contact us — we handle those orders individually.
How quickly are gas cooler delivered?
7 items in this category are currently listed as available. There is no blanket delivery time — it depends on the item, and stock goods, made-to-order parts and special versions differ considerably. The figure that applies is stated on the product page.
Do I get technical data sheets for gas cooler?
Yes. Data sheets, dimensional drawings and manuals are — where provided by the manufacturer — filed under “Downloads” on each product and accessible without an account. If a document is missing we will supply it on request.
Who is my contractual partner when I order?
shukchok. Even where an external supplier lists and ships the product, shukchok remains the seller and contractual partner. Invoicing, payment processing, warranty and refunds all run through shukchok — you have exactly one point of contact.
Can I return gas cooler?
Unused stock items can be returned within the statutory and contractual rules. Items made or configured to customer specification are excluded from return. Please register a return in advance so we can allocate the process.
