Steam-side wear parts for New York’s district steam and building plant
A trap survey produces twenty positions in an afternoon, so what follows is not a purchase but a fortnight of waiting for quotations on parts that sat on a shelf the whole time. On shukchok price and pressure class stand at each of them, without a login.

Your building, your network
No boiler house of your own — and every fitting behind the transfer station is yours
You have no boiler house to look after. You have a transfer station, and behind it a few hundred components with a service life.
They are not replaced one at a time. A run of tests produces a list — traps, reducing valves, safety valves, strainers, each with its own nominal size, connection and pressure class — and that list is where the delay starts: read it out over the telephone and you will be corrected twice; send it to five suppliers and you will be answering questions for a fortnight.
- Twenty articles here belong to the steam and process fitting world — the part a distribution network wears out
- Purchase order number and cost centre are basket fields, both carried to the invoice
- For a portfolio with internal recharging that is one booking line per building, not one per part
The demand on the ground
Three installed bases, and what each of them wears out
| What runs here | Scale | What it consumes |
|---|---|---|
| Municipal district steam, Manhattan | around 10.8 million pounds of steam an hour | Condensate traps, pressure reducing and safety valves, strainers, gaskets |
| 14 wastewater resource recovery facilities | combined 1.3 billion gallons a day | Seals, sight glasses, pipe connectors, strainers |
| Over 925 dry cleaners in New York State | PERC banned in buildings with residential units since 21 December 2020, in third-generation machines since 31 December 2021 | Seals, filter cartridges, locks and latches, pump parts |

What the marketplace changes
A marketplace does not change the pressure class — it changes the number of processes
shukchok is an open marketplace for industrial goods, so the trap for the riser, the gasket set for the transfer station and the strainer for the make-up line come from different manufacturers and still go into one basket and one ordering process. Across a portfolio of buildings that is the difference between one transaction and five, and it is the reason the survey list stops ageing in a drawer.
What crosses the customs border is delivered duty paid: duty and import charges are collected in the ordering process and stand in the total, and the courier presents nothing at the door — since 24 June 2026 every consignment is declared anyway, so the only question left is whether the amount is known before or after you agree to it. Which delivery term applies to an article is stated on the article.
- Signed in, the article page shows when the same trap was last taken
- A previous order returns to the basket in one step — the normal case on a repeating riser
- One ordering process for parts from several manufacturers
