Corrosion resistance by environment
In wet and cleaning areas stainless 1.4301 or better is the right choice. Galvanised parts develop rust there within months.
Check the safety function
Where an interlock forms part of the guard it needs a corresponding approval and monitoring — a plain latch will not do.
Everyday usability
Fasteners that can only be opened with a tool get bypassed in practice. The workable solution is the one that actually gets used.

Which dimensions do I need for a replacement fastener?
Cut-out size in the door, door material thickness and the mounting hole spacing. For square and triangular inserts also the key size.
Are the fasteners suitable for wet areas?
Only the versions explicitly listed in stainless steel. Galvanised parts are intended for dry indoor use and corrode quickly under cleaning duty.
Can safety switches be retrofitted to existing doors?
Usually yes, provided door leaf and frame are sufficiently rigid. Selection follows the required safety category — tell us the requirement from your risk assessment.
