Pumps/Motors

Pumps and motors move the medium and the mechanics. Selection turns not on rated power but on the duty point: flow rate and head have to match the system curve.

Buying Pumps/Motors — what matters in the selection

Pumps and motors move the medium and the mechanics. Selection turns not on rated power but on the duty point: flow rate and head have to match the system curve.

shukchok carries pumps, motors and drive components for process, cleaning and analytical applications, stating power, voltage, frequency and connection.

Many pumps are listed in several power and frequency versions — the choice is made directly in the product view so you do not have to jump between items.

Selection criteria

  1. Duty point, not rated power

An oversized pump runs away from its best efficiency point, consumes more and wears faster. Flow rate and head in real operation are what count.

  2. Mind the mains frequency

50 and 60 Hz give different speeds and therefore different curves. A 60 Hz motor on a 50 Hz supply runs about 17 percent slower.

  3. Media resistance of the wetted parts

Impeller, casing and shaft seal must suit the medium. With aggressive media the material, not the hydraulics, decides service life.

  4. NPSH and inlet conditions

Cavitation destroys impellers faster than any foreign body. Check the required inlet pressure against the actual installation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run a 60 Hz motor on a 50 Hz supply?

Technically possible, but the speed drops by around 17 percent — and with it flow rate and head considerably. For a defined duty point the frequency version should match the supply.

What data is needed to select a pump?

Medium, temperature, flow rate, head and the inlet situation. Those figures allow the duty point to be determined and a suitable size recommended.

Can I get spares for older pumps?

For many series seal kits, impellers and shaft seals remain available. Give us type, size and year of manufacture — a photo helps where the nameplate is illegible.

Can I order pumps/Motors on account?

Card payment, Apple Pay and Google Pay are available immediately. Purchase on account and prepayment by bank transfer are in preparation for business customers and will be available shortly. If a card declines a larger amount, please contact us — we handle those orders individually.

How quickly are pumps/Motors delivered?

4 items in this category are currently listed as available. There is no blanket delivery time — it depends on the item, and stock goods, made-to-order parts and special versions differ considerably. The figure that applies is stated on the product page.

Do I get technical data sheets for pumps/Motors?

Yes. Data sheets, dimensional drawings and manuals are — where provided by the manufacturer — filed under “Downloads” on each product and accessible without an account. If a document is missing we will supply it on request.

Who is my contractual partner when I order?

shukchok. Even where an external supplier lists and ships the product, shukchok remains the seller and contractual partner. Invoicing, payment processing, warranty and refunds all run through shukchok — you have exactly one point of contact.

Can I return pumps/Motors?

Unused stock items can be returned within the statutory and contractual rules. Items made or configured to customer specification are excluded from return. Please register a return in advance so we can allocate the process.
