What moved in 2023

The blast furnace is out. The wear stayed — it only moved.

On the integrated steelworks in the belt — roughly 5.5 million square metres of it — the blast furnace and the hot strip mill were shut down in September 2023. Heavy plate, the tube mill, cold rolling and a combined-cycle power block continue to run. For a parts list that is not trivia: ironmaking and downstream processing wear different things.

What wears today are utility circuits, measuring ducts, seals, strainers and the bellows that sit on fans, drives and duct connections. None of it is exotic — which is exactly why it stands here with the price in yen, the material and the operating limits at the position, without a login.

The prefecture of Kanagawa describes the Keihin coastal district — it links the Yokohama wards of Tsurumi-ku and Kanagawa-ku with Kawasaki — as the home of oil, chemicals and steel, and puts its share at more than 20 % of the entire manufacturing output of the prefecture.

What the marketplace changes

One process instead of five, across several manufacturers

shukchok is an open marketplace for industrial goods, one you can buy from and list on: the bellows from the fan connection, the strainer from the cooling circuit and the cooler from the measuring duct come from different manufacturers — and still go into one basket and one ordering process. When you work through a maintenance round on one line, that is the difference between one process and five.

The interface and the specification table are in Japanese; an article number needs no language at all. Across the customs border the goods arrive duty paid: duty and import charges stand in the total, and nothing is presented at the door.
