Watson-Marlow Limited (trading as WMFTS) traces its origins to the first commercially usable peristaltic pump, developed in 1956 by Bernard Refson in Marlow, Buckinghamshire; its headquarters today is in Falmouth, Cornwall. Since 1990 the company has belonged to the Spirax Group (formerly Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc), a group listed on the London Stock Exchange. WMFTS manufactures peristaltic and sinusoidal pumps as well as tubing and connection technology for life science and process industries, among others under the brands Bredel, Flexicon, MasoSine and Marprene.
