shukchok carries manual and automated valves for water, compressed air, steam and process media: ball valves, check valves, pressure-reducing and pressure-relief valves plus solenoid valves for actuation.
Nominal size, connection type, material and permissible working pressure are stated for every valve — the four figures that make a sound selection possible.
Ball valves for fast full isolation; globe valves for modulating control; butterfly valves for large nominal sizes at low pressure drop. A ball valve used for control wears out prematurely.
The permissible rating falls as temperature rises. A PN16 marking applies at room temperature — on steam the figures are considerably lower.
PTFE seats are chemically resistant but temperature-limited. Metal-seated valves take more but do not close bubble-tight.
If an actuator is to follow later, an ISO 5211 mounting pad is the cheaper decision than a complete replacement further down the line.
PN16 designates a nominal pressure rating of 16 bar at room temperature. As the medium temperature rises the permissible working pressure falls — the specific figures are in the data sheet of the individual item.
Technically possible, practically inadvisable. Partly open, the medium flows across a small area and erodes seat and ball. Globe or control valves are the correct design for modulating duty.
Only where material and seat are explicitly released for it. Check the pressure-temperature curve in the data sheet; on saturated steam PTFE seats are often the limiting component.
