Industrial spare parts for Manchester works

An overhaul shop buys the same twelve consumables again and again and has to find them again every single time — so what costs you here is not the part, it is the search. On shukchok the price stands above the specification table before you sign in.

Your rhythm on site

Nothing but components that come in worn and leave serviceable

Up to 300 bogie frames and 1,200 wheelsets a year across two shifts, in a works that opened in June 2026 after an investment of £10m. No new vehicles, no assembly line — throughput sets the rhythm, and the rhythm sets what gets consumed.

Which makes the ordering the slow part rather than the work. Five enquiries for a seal kit you have bought eleven times before, and a fortnight in which a frame stands on the stand.

Sounds like a sales line. So here is the test, and it costs you ten seconds: open a category without an account and check whether the price, the material and the dimensions are there before anyone asks for your email address.

  • The same part number identified the same way, on all 114 articles
  • Full-text search reaches the part number straight from a bill of materials
  • A previous order returns to the basket in one step

Inside the boundary

What actually works within the city limits

Manchester is usually described through Trafford Park, which is next door rather than inside: 12 square kilometres, roughly 1,400 businesses and around 40,000 employees, in the same procurement area but a different delivery address. These four sit within the boundary itself.

  • Bogie and wheelset overhaul at Lowry Park, in operation since June 2026
  • A brewery in Cheetham on the same site since 1860 — a working steam and CIP environment
  • Wythenshawe, with four industrial estates inside the city boundary
  • Maintenance contractors serving all of the above, who order by part rather than by project

What the marketplace changes

The same twelve parts again, found in minutes instead of a fortnight

shukchok is an open marketplace for industrial goods, and an overhaul shop is its plainest customer: it does not need a machine, it needs the same consumables again, reliably identified, with a visible price and no sales call in between — and from several makers in one ordering process rather than five.

That is what this is: prices without registration, article data at the article, a basket that takes several manufacturers at once, and a purchase order number and cost centre as fields you fill in yourself. Over the customs border we deliver duty paid, so the total you approve is the total that leaves the account. Which delivery term applies to an article is stated at the article.

And it runs the other way too. A city with 1,400 businesses next door and four estates inside it has makers as well as buyers: whoever produces sealing, fittings, pneumatics or workshop equipment puts a range in front of the demand above — no listing fee, no monthly fee, because we earn on the margin of a position that sells.

  • One basket across several manufacturers, one ordering process
  • Your range, your prices, published without waiting for a release
  • Contract, invoicing and payment handling stay with us

Before the first order

What a Manchester works asks first

Is there a charge for driving into the city?
Not here. The charging clean air zone for Greater Manchester was abandoned and replaced by a non-charging plan, where Birmingham has charged since 1 June 2021 and both Scottish cities enforce low emission zones. It changes how you plan a maintenance round; it never changes what a consignment costs, because parcels and freight arrive with a carrier either way.
Will the driver ask for duty at the works gate?
No. Over the customs border we deliver duty paid: duty and import VAT are collected in the ordering process and stand in the total you approve, so there is no second bill at the gate. Which delivery term applies to an article is stated at the article.
Can I have a delivery date?
Where an article carries a lead time, it is stated at that article — five of 114 do. We would rather leave the date out than give you one that only holds for part of the list.
I manufacture here. What does it cost to list?
Nothing to start and nothing per month. There is no listing fee and no manual product approval; you keep your prices, and we earn on the margin of a position that sells. The shop, the checkout, the invoicing and the customer contact are ours, and manufacturer and supplier are named at every position.

Two ways in

Order the twelve parts you will need again

Prices are visible without an account, and nothing here promises a date that only holds for part of the list. And if you build or distribute in this city, the shelf beside them is free.
