Industrial spare parts for Kyoto: brewing, dyeing, instrument building

A trap that blows through costs you no component, it costs you live steam — month after month, and no fault report ever arrives. After the survey, therefore, ten positions stand on one list. On shukchok they go into one basket, with the price and the operating limits on every one of them.

Your rhythm in the boiler house

The quiet loss has a survey date

A brewery steam circuit is the classic home of the loss nobody reports. A failed trap either blows live steam through, which is expensive and invisible, or dams condensate, which brings water hammer and erosion. Either way you find out on the survey, not on the shift log.

That is why traps get replaced in batches — and why the awkward part is the buying, not the fitting. Ten positions across several manufacturers used to mean several quotation rounds, each with its own queries about nominal size and pressure step.

On shukchok they are one basket: an open marketplace for industrial goods you can buy from and list your own range on. The price stands in yen at the position without a login, and underneath it material, operating limits, design and size as a table, so the batch can be specified in one sitting instead of assembled from replies.

  • A specification table on 114 of 114 articles — pressure step, temperature, design
  • Purchase order number and cost centre as fields in the cart, both on the invoice
  • Delivered duty paid across the border: duty and import charges stand in the total

What this city actually generates

Three buildings, the same steam

  • Sake brewing in Fushimi

Around 22 brewing businesses sit in one quarter. Rice steaming and CIP cleaning run on a daily rhythm, which makes traps, pressure reducers, strainers and sight glasses parts with a calendar rather than parts with a fault report.

  • Nishijin textile finishing

465 businesses and 4,783 looms as counted in 2008. Dyeing and finishing means heated circuits, steam and process water — and a dye bath that has to hold its temperature makes a leaking trap expensive twice over.

  • Instrument building

Build analyser hardware and you buy components, not consumables: small valves, connectors, sight glasses and seals in many part numbers and small quantities. Several manufacturers, one basket, one ordering process.

Instrument works and sake brewery in a valley basin: timber-clad brewery buildings with a brick chimney and a steam plume, tanks under a canopy, and opposite a white production building with roof plant and pressure vessels

Steam and dye works, not flue gas

Inland, with no seaport: the heat here runs through breweries, dye houses and building services — and it runs on the same fittings a plant does.

Read the position, not the category

One trap is not another — which is why the design stands at the position

A steam air vent and an automatic air vent for water circuits look alike in a category tree and behave nothing alike in a pipe. Swap them over and neither works for long. Specify for a brewery and you read the position: pressure step, temperature, design and connection stand there before you order, on every one of the 114 articles.

The steam side of the range is short today — one condensate trap and one pressure reducing valve. For a maker or distributor with a full steam programme that is the open door: an open marketplace is where a range like that reaches these breweries and dye houses without anyone building a catalogue for Japan first.

  • Full-text search reaches into the specification and the SKU, not just the category name
  • Signed in, the article page shows when that same part was last ordered
  • One ordering process, one contracting party: contract and payment sit with us

For suppliers

This city builds what other places only measure

Exhaust gas measurement is at home here as a maker rather than as a user, and that turns the usual reading around: an instrument works is a buyer of components and a possible supplier of them in the same breath. The same holds for the fitting shops, the valve makers and the seal converters that feed it.

Listing costs nothing — no listing fee, no monthly fee, no manual product approval — and the earning happens on the margin of a position that sells. You lodge the range and the prices, and shop, checkout, invoicing and customer contact are ours. Papers such as a calibration certificate travel with the article as metadata, from the supplier who issues them.

  • Your range, your prices — online, without waiting for a release
  • Manufacturer and supplier are named visibly at every position
  • Small quantities and many part numbers are the normal case here, not the exception

How to start

Specify the batch in one sitting

Operating limits, material and design are readable before the order, on all 114 articles. And if you build or convert here yourself: your range stands here without a listing fee.
